Started, June 6th.
Funny, no sooner do I post a message about trials, tribulations, staying the course, and Satan launching attacks slow or stop your work for the Lord; when my car battery dies in Ohio. Of course, this would be the one time we forgot to bring credit cards, and the NAPA, conveniently located across the street , doesn't take personal checks.
Thanks to a Good Samaritan, who knew us, we were loaned $180 to get a battery.
Now in most cases, changing a battery out is a simple process, in most cases...My case, not so much. First, I had no tools, limited funds, and an approaching thunderstorm, with electric windows down, two very hot dogs, and a steamed, but understanding significant other waiting to leave a hot, humid parking lot.
Again the Lord provided help in the way of a toolbox and two guys to lend a hand. Half an hour later out with the old, and in with the new. A turn of the key, prayers of thanks, and we were on our way.
What else could possibly happen in June?
Well it seems I have a Crane picking off my Coi fish from the pond. Who would have thought, a Crane in a Pittsburgh neighborhood? I had thought my Crane prevention was working, until the bird had the nerve to land in my backyard yesterday. Fortunately, the boys, Duke and Jake were around to chase the skinny scavenger off. We'll see what happens...
Then there was the massive plumbing problem, is there any other kind. Three days of prayer, plunging and Palmolive (and a couple of old plumbing tricks) broke the impasse, so to speak.
Now I'll just throw in a quick complaint about work; that would be that 60+ hours a week can wear a man down. It sure gets in the way of doing any ministry.
Well my friends, hope springs eternal as we enter July. I won't say it can't be any worse than June, but I know better than that!!
Let's all keep praying, and holding onto the Lord during the storms of life.
He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.-Psalm107:29
