My favorite girl and I, were having a very intense discussion on the Book of Revelation and the Mark of the beast. Her concern was, about those that had never heard the Gospel and the warnings about the End Times.
I said the church should be teaching the entire Gospel, and leading people to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Sally believed that the responsibility of teaching the Bible, and getting kids to church was the parents.
We agreed that both were failing. Parents for any number of reasons no longer take on the role of spiritual leader in the home. "The church," for any number of reasons is failing, losing members, and not attracting the lost. I believe that is due to watered down, politically correct messaging, and turning the church itself into a social meeting place, instead of a lifeboat for the lost.
At the end of our discussion, the Lord gave me a Gibbs slap; and I realized that the responsibility of reaching the lost, was mine. If I sit around blaming the church and parents for the current conditions of our culture, and not getting the Gospel message to the lost; I am just as guilty.
It is my responsibility to get the Gospel message of love, hope, and Salvation to the lost. I accept the Lord's calling, and will make that my focus for the remaining days of my time in this world.
