Spread like fire through a dried forest

Here’s to the dreamers, whose thoughts of greatness

My wife gets jealous because she thinks the dogs like me better, but they don't. They look look at her as the news, while they'll see me as a reality TV show. With her they know the format, and pretty much know what to expect. Ahhh...but with me, They never know what disaster lays ahead.
I was driving the other day and I saw a sign that started me thinking. I saw an ad, “Simple Cremation $695.” Is there any other kind? It would seem that in general, cremation would be a fairly simple process. Basically you are burned with intense heat until ashes remain. You go in on a slab and come out in a zip lock bag. Other than the cost of the urn and, perhaps, the cost of the gas to ignite you; it should be a very cost effective way to place you in your favorite resting place. After that you are placed in a box or urn, then buried or displayed on a mantle in a loved one’s home. I don’t know, seems pretty simple to me. What could make cremation difficult? I mean do they give you a list of choices? Can you order a rare, medium or well simple cremation? It would be rather sad to think that your remains would be treated like a steak. It would seem that a rare cremation would require a bigger urn as you would still be pink and bloody on the inside, or perhaps you just get a bad sunburn look. Maybe you’re so fat that it takes six guys to push you in the crematorium? As you burn the fat drips dousing the fire and they have to keep cleaning and restarting your barbeque? Perhaps you’re not fat, just big boned and it takes longer to make you ash. It could be that your family wants you to smell better in the afterlife and decides that you need to be aromatized during cremation. If you like wine, maybe an oak smell is added to your session in the oven, or rose petals. It could be possible to add Old Spice to the mix and get rid of that lingering body odor. I would imagine that a creative and vindictive family could come up with a pleasing scent and sell your ashes as “Dad’s Potpourri.” What better way to payback old dad for years of abuse than by having his ashes sitting on numerous toilets around the country? These are the thoughts that occupy my mind while driving. There will be no joy in your life, if all you carry is hate.
...and the greatest if these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10
Given the current state of affairs in Washington, and in many ways Harrisburg, I wonder what have we done to ourselves. The original intent of the founders was to free us from tyranny, taxation without representation, and a ruling elite dictating how our lives would be run. If time travel was possible, the Founding Fathers would not recognize the nation they created. We have elected a ruling oligarchy that places its own power over the needs of the people, puts the profits of corporations, and themselves, over patriotism, and divides us, so they can continue to gain. Ever wonder why things never get done in Washington, even when one party controls all three branches of government? There’s no profit in it. Solving problems would eliminate wedge issues and contribution cash cows. Collusion? The real election collusion is between the two establishment parties. Donald Trump is hated by the ruling elites and establishment press, because he is not part of the club. Trump was loved when he was giving money to both parties and pulling in the ratings on his television show. Now he is a danger to the ruling political and media class. Trump is a political aberration, thanks, in part to the ineptitude of the Republican Party. Had they been as organized as the Democratic Party, Trump would have gone the way of Bernie Sanders, and we would now have a Bush or Clinton in the White House protecting the status quo. We don’t need to fear the interference of a foreign power in our elections, we need to fear the ruling oligarchy in ours. I have an 82 year old friend that has pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately, before they can operate on that, they are removing half of his leg today, due to diabetes. After much prayer, this was what I wrote to him.
************* Hang in there. Sometimes we wonder why things happen to us, and we just don't understand what God is doing. I believe that God puts us where we are meant to be for His purpose. What you are going though is tough, but you're just as tough. God has you there at this time to touch someone, perhaps a nurse, a doctor or an aid. He has you there to brighten someone's day with your sense of humor, or inspire someone with your faith, and courage. Things happen to us we really don't understand, but trust that God is in control, loves you, and has you in this circumstance for a reason. Keep the faith, fight the good fight, be a light to others in this time, and trust that God will reward you. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 We have leaders that we will fight to save the planet, but support the killing of a new born baby as choice. If the earth is a living breathing organism worthy of saving, isn't a living breathing human being also worth fighting for?
